Stems solitary or numerous, ascending to erect, 2-22 cm. Leaves spathulate to lanceolate to obovate, entire or dentate, with an indumentum of simple or forked hairs, or both. Petals white, deeply emarginate, 2-4 mm. Siliculae flattened, orbicular to narrowly elliptic to linear-elliptic 4-10 x 2-3 mm, many seeded. Seeds 0,3-0,5 mm. A polymorphic species, which has been much divided into species and infraspecific taxa. Four subspecies are recognisable in Turkey:
1. Siliculae obovate to orbicular, up to 5 mm .......................subsp. spathulata
1. Siliculae oblanceolate, elliptic or linear-elliptic, usually more than 5 mm
2. Simple hairs numerous on the leaves; forked hairs present or absent ..........subsp. praecox
2. Simple hairs absent or very few, most hairs forked
3. Siliculae oblanceolate or elliptic ..........................subsp. verna
3. Siliculae linear-elliptic ..................................subsp. macrocarpa
