Biennial. Stem 30-70 cm, glabrous or pilose below, corymbose-paniculate above. Leaves thin, pilose at least on the midrib below; basal leaves usually lobed and dentate; median stem leaves oblong-lanceolate, sparingly dentate or entire, with large rounded amplexicaul auricles. Flowers 4 mm. Fruit obovate to narrowly obovate-oblong, 6-12 x 2-4 mm, shortly inflated below the loculus, glabrous, tomentose-pubescent or villose at the loculus, dilated above the loculus into a concave obovate wing, loculus very narrowly thick-winged or nearly wingless, situated towards the base of the fruit, midrib thickening when ripe. Fl. 4-5. Shady limestone rocks and rocky slopes, 550-1800 m.
