Biennial or shortly perennial. Stem 40-90 cm, glabrous or hirsute, subterete, laxly paniculate with branches coming off at more than 40°. Leaves hirsute; pubescent or glabrous, thin; basal leaves entire or weakly dentate; median stem leaves oblong or oblong-lanceolate with vertical triangular-lanceolate auricles. Flowers 3-4 mm, sepals glabrous. Fruits 10-20 x 2-5 mm, tapering from near apex to base, or oblong, glabrous or puberulent, wing thick, as wide or narrower than the median loculus , midrib slender.
