Annual . Stem 30-70 cm, minutely puberulent, unbranched, or branched only in upper part. Basal leaves lyrate , to 8 cm. Cauline leaves linear-oblanceolate, sharply serrate. Racemes 2-7 cm, many-flowered. Pedicels patent, c. 5 mm. Petals white, obovate, stipitate, 1,5 mm, exceeding sepals. Silicula broadly obovate-orbicular, 3-4 x 2,5-3,5 mm, apical notch c. 0,2 mm, shallow but broad; style free, shorter than notch. Seeds 2. Fl.6. Roadsides, nr s.l.-15 m.
Native of N. America; introduced and naturalised in much of Europe.
