Annual usually branched from base, 3-10 cm before anthesis, elongating later up to 30 cm, stems prostrate or ascending. Basal leaves rosette-forming, oblongobtuse, sinuate-dentate or sub-pinnatifid, narrowed into a broad petiole; cauline linear-oblong, sessile, irregularly toothed. Racemes short, greatly elongating in fruit. Petals 2-3,5 x 1 mm, truncate at apex. Anthers apiculate. Fruiting pedicels thick, c. 1 mm. Fruit 15-30 x 0,5-1 mm, torulose, hispid, suberect, recurved or contorted; style absent; septum thick. Fl. 4-6. Waste ground, corn fields, 400-1000 m.
