Perennial, 8-20 cm ± glaucescent, with several simple stems or branched in region of inflorescence. Basal leaves obovate-spathulate, slightly fleshy, petiolate, rosette-forming, entire or crenate. Cauline leaves oblong or ovate-oblong, entire or crenate, amplexicaul. Petals lilac or violet, oblong, 6-8 x 2-3 mm. Inflorescence oblong or corymbose, elongating in fruit. Fruiting pedicels horizontal, spreading to ascending, 8-10 mm. Siliculae elliptic, 5-8 x 3-4 mm; apical sinus absent; septum 5-8 x 2-3 mm; stigma capitate, style in fruit 2 mm. Seeds smooth, dark brown, 2-4 in each loculus. Fl. 5-7. Dry alpine slopes and meadows, 2100-2500 m.
Endemic; characterised by the large, lilac and often fragrant flowers.
