Perennial herb with a thick woody root. Hairs all stellate. Basal leaves oblanceolate to spathulate, canescent; stem leaves linear. Inflorescence a raceme. Sepals 1.5-2.5 mm. Petals white, entire, 3.5-5 mm. Siliculae compressed, glabrous, orbicular to broadly obovate, up to 8 mm. Seeds large, broadly winged. Fl. 5-8. Limestone screes and ridges, 1500-2800 m.
Endemic; replaced in Italy and Balkans by subsp. rupestris which has pubescent fruits.
