Perennial 25-50 cm, smelling of garlic. Leaves mostly basal, petioles 5-10 cm, cordate-reniform, with 5-8 rounded lobes on each side. Cauline leaves few, subsessile. Inflorescence large and spreading, leafless. Petals 3-4,5 x 2-3 mm with a broad suborbicular blade and narrow claw. Fruiting pedicels thick, clavate, 5-10 mm, reflexed-recurved, narrowed at junction with fruit. Fruit curved, 5-7 mm long; uppermost part 1,5-3 mm broad, waist c. 1 mm, lowest part 1-1,5 mm. Seed usually 1, 3-4 mm, contained in middle section of fruit. Fl. 4-6. Rocky slopes, 700-1800 m.
Transcaucasia. Centred in the Ir.-Tur. region.
