Annual 10-70 cm, simple-stemmed or branched above glabrous. Basal leaves not rosette-forming, oblanceolate or spathulate, long-petiolate. Cauline leaves oblong or lanceolate, amplexicaul, toothed. Petals 3-5 x 1,5-2 mm, truncate at apex. Inflorescence much elongating in fruit. Fruiting pedicels slightly upcurved, 7-12 mm. Siliculae almost circular, 10-15 x 10-15 mm; apical sinus 2-4 mm long, including the small ± sessile stigma; septum 8-11 mm x 1,5-2 mm. Seeds 2-coated, dark brown, with concentrically raised areas. Fl. 2-5. Roadside, waste ground, weed of cultivated places, s.l.-1800 m.
