Resembling C. persicifolia L. but with thick, to 10-15 mm diam., stem to 100 cm tall; cauline leaves broadly lanceolate, acute, more gradually attenuate toward apex; flowers 3 cm diam., sessile, 2-3 in each axil, with ovate, acute, serrate bracts; calyx lobes broadly lanceolate, ovate, 10-12 x 3-5 mm, erecto-patent; capsule glabrous, opening by 3 ± median pores. Fl. 6-8. Meadows, 200-1200 m.
Endemic. Euxine element. Allied to C. persicifolia.
