Plant stout, stem 70-150 cm tall, 1-2 cm thick at base, erect, mostly simple, distantly leafy and hirsute in lower part, otherwise glabrous. Leaves shortly hirsute on both sides; basal long-petiolate, ovate-oblong, rarely Iyrate-pinnatifid, ± irregularly 2-dentate, lamina 15-20 x 5-10 cm, base decurrent into petiole or rounded; cauline oblong-Ianceolate, sessile. Inflorescence a lax spicate raceme. Flowers subsolitary, sessile or shortly pedicellate, nodding. Calyx lobes 6 mm, appendages 6-10 mm, hirsute on margin and middle nerve. Corolla divided to 1/2. lobes lingulate, 15-20 mm, spreading-recurved, with short stiff hairs outside on middle nerve. Style 30-40 mm, lower 1/2 with stiff hairs. Filament base broadly ovate, ciliate. Seeds 1 x 0·4 mm. Fl. 6-8. Dry rocky slopes and rocks, 1000-1830 m.
