Slender perennial, 30-55 cm. Stems minutely puberulent, longitudinally striate and subsulcate. Leaves coriaceous, densely minutely puberulent; lamina narrowly lanceolate, 3-7 x 0,6-1 cm, undivided or rarely lyrate-lobed, entire or sparsely denticulate, attenuate into 4-6 cm petiole; cauline leaves small, undivided, narrowly lanceolate or linear, shortly petiolate, 1,5-6 x 0,1-0,6 mm, entire or indistinctly denticulate. Involucral bracts lanceolate-ovate to orbicular, 3-6 x 2-4 mm, sparsely pilosulous or glabrescent, straw-colored or purplish. Calyx cup-shaped, with ciliate setae. Corolla 8-10 mm, white or suffused with pink, densely pubescent outside. Involucel 3 mm, pilose, with 4 long and 4 short apical teeth. Fl. 7. Pinus pallaiana forest, c. 1560 m.
