Erect annual with pubescent and setose stems, reflexed-setose below, spreading setose above, 15-60 cm. Lower leaves elliptic to lyrate, entire, dentate or crenate; upper leaves usually pinnatisect with linear to elliptic lobes. Peduncles glandular hairy or not. Involucral bracts 10-15, ovate to lanceolate, acuminate, pilose and velutinous. Capitula 1,5-3 cm diam., ± radiant, outer flowers with elliptic with 2 teeth 0,3-1,5 mm long, and sometimes minute subsidiary ones. Calyx with numerous fine hair-like setae.
