Glabrous to puberulent annual, with branching stems up to 40 cm. Leaves sessile, oblong-lanceolate; lower entire; upper pinnatisect. Involucral bracts 8-12, lanceolate, acute, ± equal to flowers. Capitula 1-2 cm diam., radiant; flowers pink, outer ones with shortly laciniate petals. Fruiting head spherical. Involucel 4-5 mm, pilose, pits oblong, ½ as long as tube, ribs between pits sulcate; corona 1,5-3 mm. long, with 20-26 excurrent nerves. Calyx stipitate; setae 10-12 mm. Fl. 6-8. Fields, open slopes, 1520-2300 m.
