Erect, usually branched annual with pubescent and strigose stems, 10-60 cm tall. Lower leaves elliptic, entire, acute; median and upper leaves pinnatisect with lanceolate segments. Involucral bracts 6-9, linear-lanceolate, longer than flowers. Capitula 1-2 cm diam., scarcely radiant; flowers pink. Fruiting head ovoid to oblong. Involucel 2,5-4 mm, pilose, pits ovate, 1-1,5 mm long, ribs between pits sulcate; corona 1,5-2,5 mm with 22-26 excurrent nerves. Calyx shortly stipitate; setae 4-6 mm. Fl. 5-7. Hills, screes, 400-2250 m.
