Clump forming dwarf perennial with very short woody caudices. Basal leaves 1-2-pinnatisect, 1,5-4 cm long, cano-sericeous, primary laciniae 5-10 mm long; stem leaves absent or pinnatisect, sometimes linear towards top of stem. Flowering stems puberulent or setose, 5-15 cm, sometimes branching near the base glabrous above. Involucral bracts 8-11, lanceolate, shorter or longer than flowers 4-8 mm long, strigose and pubescent. Capitula 0,5-1,5 cm diam., radiant, outer flowers with ± entire petals. Corolla white, yellowish-white or lilac. Fruiting head spherical. Involucel 2-3 mm long, pilose, pits oblong, ribs between pits not sulcate; corona 1-1,5 mm long with 20-22 excurrent nerves. Calyx shortly stipitate, setae 3,5-6 mm. Fl. 7-8. Rocky slopes, 700-2000 m.
