Like A. macrosepala but denser and smaller, 2-5 cm; pedicels 1-2 mm; sepals 4,5-5 mm in flower, extending to 6 mm in fruit; petals lanceolate, more than 1/2 as long as sepals; seeds reticulate; cells flat, not at all inflated. Fl. 6.
Subsp. saponarioides, to which all the Turkish material belongs, is endemic.
