Tufted perennial, 12-18 cm. Leaves 45 x 0,8-1,3 mm, linear, long-acuminate, the membranous purplish bases of the lower leaves sheathing the tufts. Flowers solitary. Bracteoles 4, ovate, aristate, brownish purple, c. ½ calyx length. Calyx 12-18 x 3-5 mm, purple, widest in the lower half, teeth 6-7 mm, lanceolate, acuminate, sometimes mucronate. Petal limb pink, 6-8 mm, ebarbulate, broadly ovate, crenate to subentire. Fl. 8. Rock crevices, 2000-3900 m.
