Annual, 5-20 cm, with short eglandular indumentum and longer, glandular hairs, branched throughout. Leaves linear, needle-like, 5-15 x less than 1 mm. Inflorescence loose, many-fiowered. Pedicels 5-15 mm. Calyx tubular, 4-7 mm, teeth very short, ovate, obtuse. Petals linear-cuneate, emarginate,5-9 mm, pink with darker veins. Seeds with flat tubercles. Fl. 5-8. Quercus coccifera macchie, steppe, 100-1000 m.
Endemic; E. Medit. element. A well-distinguished species with the tubular calyx of Bolanthus, but with the other characters of Gypsophila.
