Like M. aizoides but more tufted; flowering stems 4-10 cm tall, puberulent; leaves 4-10 mm, setaceous, ± triquetrous, the base 0,5-1 mm broad; sepals 3,5-5 mm, becoming ± prominently 3-veined in fruit; petals elliptic-obovate. Fl. 6-7. Serpentine and micaceous gravel, 600-1800 m.
S. Balkans; in Turkey only known from the type.
