Completely glabrous annual. Stems erect, 10-90 cm. Lower leaves obovate spathulate or oblanceolate, acute or obtuse, petiolate; upper leaves 8-20 mm broad, broadly lanceolate to narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, acute; all leaves glaucous. Inflorescence a dichasium, or dichasial below, monochasial above. Calyx glabrous, contracted at the apex, with 10 anastomosing nerves, 11-14 mm. Petals pink, limb bipartite almost to the base. Anthophore 2-2·5 mm. Capsule ovoid, included in the calyx. Fl. 4-5. Slopes, fields, s.I.-1400 m.
