Pulvinate, suffrutescent perennial 15-30 cm tall. Stems erect, slender, terete, 0.5-0.9 mm diam., glabrous, densely leafy below. Basal leaves linear, 10-15 x 1 mm, acuminate, recurved, ciliate. Cauline leaves similar but smaller. Flowers 1. Bracts lanceolate, 3.5-4.5 mm, ciliate. Pedicels much shorter than calyx, puberulent. Calyx 12-15 mm, densely puberulent, constricted round anthophore; teeth ovate-lanceolate, 2 mm, acute, ciliate. Petals 18-20 mm, yellowish-green, brown at apex; limb bifid with 2.5-3 mm, recurved lobes; coronal scales white, to 1.5 mm. Styles 3. Capsule ovoid-oblong, 7-8 mm, included in calyx; anthophore glabrous, 6-7 mm. Seeds triangular-reniform, c. 1 mm, rugulose, dorsally furrowed. Fl. 6. Calcareous rocky places in Pinus brutia forest, 830 m.
