Stems 10-30 cm, procumbent. Leaves 7-15 x 2-5 mm, elliptic-obovate, somewhat acute, with a conspicuous mid-vein beneath. Cymes with few shortly pedicelled flowers. Sepals 3-5 mm, oblong-linear, carinate. Petals as long as the calyx. Capsules 5-6 x 3 mm, brownish-green, shiny. Seeds usually 11-15. Fl. 5-7. Dry stony slopes, rocky screes, pine woods, oak scrub, 400-2200m.
