Ssp lycaonicum: Çayır güngülü; Ssp nummularium: Güngülü
Suffruticose perennial, often straggling, lax. Indumentum variable, but not usually hispid-setose. Leaves very narrowly elliptic to oblong, not or scarcely revolute. Inner surface of inner sepals glabrous. Petals yellow. Four subspecies may be recognised:
1. Leaves green on both surfaces ………………………………………………………subsp. ovatum =>H.ovatum
1. Leaves white-tomentose, at least on the lower surface
2. Plant very canescent, stems white-tomentose ………………………subsp. lycaonicum
2. Stems green though hairy; only the lower leaf surfaces canescent
3. Petals 8-13 mm; leaves 5-8 mm broad …………………………..subsp. tomentosum =>H.tomentosum
3. Petals 6-9 mm; leaves 3-5 mm, broad …………………..subsp. nummularium
