Dwarf semiprostrate or cushion-forming shrublet with procumbent flowering shoots 1,5-20 cm. Leaves sericeous, sessile, spathulate to spathulate-oblanceolate, obtuse to apiculate, 3-18 x 2-4 mm. Flowers terminal and axillary, solitary or in 2-7-flowered cymes, sessile or on pedicels to 10 mm. Outer sepals 6-10 mm, sericeous with some erecto-patent hairs, oblong, subobtuse to acute, often shortly acuminate, sometimes mucronate. Corolla white, 18-26 mm, with 5 pink bands outside. Ovary hairy. Fl. 5-6. Steppe alld open Pinus nigra forest, 850-1200 m.
