Erect or ascending annual or biennial, 15-30 cm; flowering stems sparsely pubescent; sterile basal rosettes sometimes present. Leaves obovate to obovate-spathulate, plane though fleshy, 10-30 x 5-8 mm, glabrous, the lower petiolate, the upper sessile, opposite, alternate or whorled. Inflorescence a lax, many-flowered paniculate cyme, Flowers 5-merous, pedicellate; sepals 1-1,5 mm, acute; petals white with red keels c. 5 mm. Stamens 10; follicles, erect, glabrous. Fl. 6-7.
