Suckering, deciduous shrub to 4m; stem with glandular hairs; terminal bud c. 1,5 cm. Petiole 0,2-0,5 cm; lamina ovate to oblanceolate, 4-8,5 x 1,8-2,5 cm, chartaceous, strigose or with glandular hairs.. Inflorescence 5-15-flowered, axis 1-2cm pedicel 1,8-2,4 cm, with glandular hairs; bracts and bracteoles c. 1,5 cm. Calyx lobes 1,5-8,5 mm. Corolla yellow, infundibular, 3,8-4,5 cm across, glandular-pubescent outside; tube c. 1,5 cm; lobes 1,5-2 cm. Stamens 5. Ovary glandular-strigose; style 4-5,5 cm, pubescent near base. Capsule 1,7-2,2 cm; seeds c. 3 mm. Fl. 4-7-. Understorey of Fagus, Pinus and Abies forests, grassy slopes, rarely above tree line, 400-2000 m.
