Very similar to E. orientalis, but taller ; leaves to 12 cm, minutely serrulate; glands smaller ; fruits granulate-verruculose, seeds smaller . Fl. 5-7. On clay soil by streams and springs, in fields, under Quercus, 350-1400 m.
1. Cauline leaves pilose above and beneath, or at least on midrib beneath or on margins; stems pilose or glabrous var. altissima
