Minutely puberulous or glabrous glaucous prostrate perennial with many much-branched stems arising from caudiculi borne on a woody stock. Cauline, ray- and raylet-leaves shortly petiolate, suborbicular, obovate or ovate, 2-10 x 2-8 mm, obtuse or subacute, entire. Rays 2-4, once to three times dichotomous, sometimes absent; axillary rays 0-1. Glands medium- to long-horned. Fruit trilobate, with 2 parallel wings on each valve, 3-4 mm diam., smooth. Seeds ovoid-cylindrical, 2.5-3 mm, shallowly and irregularly grooved and pitted, pale grey, depressions often darker; caruncle terminal, conical. Fl. 4-9. Rock crevices , rocky slopes and screes, often in conifer belt, stony steppe, 50-3050 m.
