Minutely pruinose-hirtellous to subglabrous glaucous perennial. Stems numerous to 20 cm, arising from a woody stock. Cauline leaves linear-oblanceolate to oblong, 0.5-1.7 x 0.1-0.3 cm, obtuse, entire, pruinose-hirtellous, ± flat. Ray-leaves ovate, suborbicular or obovate. Raylet-leaves suborbicular, ovate-rhombic or ovate-deltoid, 4-7 x 3-9 mm, apex obtuse, mucronate, base cuneate, rounded or truncate, sometimes purplish. Rays 3-5, to 2 em, not or once dichotomous; axillary rays 0-3. Glands short-horned or ± truncate. Fruit subglobose to ovoid-conical, 2.5-3 mm diarn., smooth, glabrous. Seeds compressed-ovoid, 2-2.5 mm, uniformly pitted, pale grey,caruncle terminal, 0.7 mm, conical. Fl. 5-8. Open rocky places on sandstone and calcareous marl, stony steppe and in pine groves, 750-2050 m.
