Glabrous somewhat glaucous annual to 15 cm. Stems unbranched at base. Cauline leaves linear-oblanceolate, 5-16 x 0.5-2 mm, obtuse or emarginate, attenuate at base, entire. Ray-leaves linear-oblanceolate to obovate. Raylet-leaves linear-oblanceolate to ovate-rhombic, sometimes falcate, to 8 mm broad, attenuate or rounded-cuneate. Rays 3-4, to 10 times dichotomous; axillary rays 0-2. Glands short-horned. Fruit trilobate, keels angular, 1.5-2.3 mm diam., smooth. Seeds ellipsoid-quadrangular, 1.5 mm, pustulate-rugulose, pale grey, caruncle small, white. Fl. 5-8. Quercus woods and Pinus forest, scrub, stony places, disturbed steppe, fields and vineyards, 300-2000 m.
