Shrub up to 50 cm, with tortuous, woody branches whose ends persist as spines. Leaves simple or trifoliolate, the leaflets oblong-spathulate or oblong-obovate, sericeous above and beneath. Flowers solitary or in 2-3-flowered fascicles in the bract axils, forming interrupted false racemes. Calyx 3-5 mm, tubular, the teeth triangular, much shorter than the sparsely sericeous tube. Corolla yellow. Legume 1-seeded. Fl. 4-7. Macchie, phrygana, s.I.-400 m.
