Laxly branching shrub, 20-30 cm. Leaf rachis spiny, 12-16 cm, incurved. Leaflets 8-14 mm, narrowly elliptic, spine-tipped, sparsely simple-spreading-hairy below, glabrous above, 7-11-paired. Stipules 8-10 mm, lanceolate. Flowers sessile, 3-5 per leaf axil. Inflorescence globose, c. 3 cm diam., c. 30-flowered. Bracts 6-10 mm, ovate-lanceolate, navicular, sparsely pilose above. Bracteoles 4-5 mm, lanceolate, scarious. Calyx 9-14 mm, spreading-villous; lobes divided to the base though apparently forming a tube 4-6 mm, long. Flowers pink ; standard 18-20 mm. FI. 5-7. Fallow fields, hillsides, etc., 750-1300 m.
