Scapose perennial with woody caudex. Leaves 5-18 cm; leaflets broadly elliptic to obovate,acute, obtuse or retuse, often mucronate, both surfaces simple-subsericeous, 14-25-paired; stipules 6-10 mm, lanceolate, white-ciliate. Peduncles longer or shorter than leaves, whiteN, or black- and white-pilose. Flowers subpedicellate in lax 6-20-flowered spikes. Bracts 4-6 mm, narrowly ovate, black and white-hairy. Bracteoles 2-3 mm, lanceolate, black- and white-hairy. Calyx 15-20 mm, tubular at first, becoming globose-inflated, black and white simple pilose; teeth 3-5 mm, broadly triangular. Corolla pink; standard 17-25 mm. Legume unknown. FI. 5-8. Steppe, scrub, 750-1900 m.
