Dwarf cushion-forming shrub, 7-15 cm. Leaf rachis spiny, 2-5 cm, straight. Leaflets 3-11 mm, spine-tipped, narrowly elliptic to obovate, densely white spreading-simple-pilose, 4-8-paired. Stipules 8-10 mm, triangular-ovate, sparsely pilose. Flowers sessile, 3-4 per leaf axil. Inflorescence globose, 2,5-3,5 cm diam., 10-25 flowered. Bracts 11-12 mm, ovate-lanceolate, navicular, pilose towards the apex. Bracteoles linear, densely pilose, resembling the calyx lobes. Calyx 10-13 mm; lobes divided to the base. Corolla pink or purplish; standard 18-20 mm. Style hairy, FI. 6-8. Cultivated fields, meadows, steppe, mountainous districts, 650-2130 m.
Mainly C. Anatolia, local in N. & E.
Endemic; Ir.-Tur. element. Allied to A. wiedemannianus and A. condensatus.
