Shrub 10-35 cm. Leaf rachis spinescent, 7-22 cm, straight or incurved. Leaflets 6-22 mm, elliptic, mucronate, sparsely simple-pilose to glabrous, 6-15 paired. Stipules 8-14 mm, lanceolate, glabrous to villous. Flowers sessile, 2-5 per leaf axil. Inflorescence ovoid to cylindrical, 4-5 cm diam., 25-80-flowered. Bracts 7-12 mm, linear to lanceolate, keeled to navicular, sparsely pilose towards the apex. Bracteoles absent or 1-2, 3,5-7 mm, linear, scarious. Calyx 12-17 mm, usually densely white-pilose or even villous; lobes divided to the base though apparently forming a tube 7-8 mm long. Corolla pink; standard 18-28 mm
