Dwarf shrub; stems 10-20 cm. Leaf rachis spiny, 20-22 cm, incurved. Leaflets 18-26 mm, elliptic, spine-tipped, sparsely adpressed-hairy or glabrous, 8-10-paired. Stipules c. 25 mm, ovate-lanceolate, tomentose below. Flowers sessile in the leafaxils. Inflorescence globose to ovoid, c. 4 cm diam., c. 60-flowered. Bracts c. 16 mm, linear, pilose in the upper half. Bracteoles absent. Calyx c. 20 mm, densely pilose; lobes incurved, divided to the base though apparently forming a tube c. 14 mm long. Corolla pink; standard 25-28 mm. Fl. 6.
