Dwarf shrub; stems c. 5 cm. Leaf rachis spiny, 20-35 cm, incurved. Leaflets elliptic to ovate, spine-tipped, sparsely simple-tomentellous, sometimes glabrescent above, 5-8-paired. Stipules 25-35 mm, triangular-Ianceolate, sparsely adpressed-hairy. Flowers sessile in the leaf axils. Inflorescence cylindrical to ovoid, 5-6 cm diam., 70-150-flowered. Bracts 14-16 mm, lanceolate, navicular to linear-lanceolate and keeled, densely pilose above. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 15-18 mm, densely long-pilose; lobes incurved at the tip, divided to the base though apparently forming a tube 8-10 mm long. Corolla colour unknown; standard 25-28 mrn. Fl. 7-8. Cultivated fields, rocky slopes, etc., c. 1100 m.
