Procumbent acaulous perennial with a simple or sparsely branched woody caudex. Leaves 5-15 cm; leaflets 5-16 mm, elliptic, obtuse or acute, sparsely white-simple-villous on both surfaces, 10-20-paired; stipules 6-8 mm, lanceolate, membranous. Flowers shortly pedicellate in compact, subsessile, 2-5-flowered racemes. Bracts c.6 mm, linear-lanceolate. Calyx 10-12 mm, broadly tubular, sparsely villous; teeth 2-4 mm, linear. Corolla yellow; standard 15-20 mm. Style with a tuft of hairs below the stigma, not uniformly hairy throughout its length. Legume 15-20 mm, ellipsoid, villous; beak 2-4 mm, sessile. Fl. 6-8. Pine woods, alpine meadows, stony slopes etc., 1100-3300 m.
