Dwarf cushion-forming shrub, 10-15 cm. Leaf rachis, 2-5 cm, straight. Leaflets 5-8 mm, narrowly elliptic, shortly simple-sericeous to ± spreading pilose, 3-6-paired, Stipules 9-16 mm, triangular-Ianceolate, tomentose. Flowers sessile, 1-2 per leaf axil. Inflorescence globose, 2-3 cm diam., 5-20-flowered. Bracts 7-14 mm, linear-keeled or narrowly lanceolate, tomentose towards the apex. Bracteoles absent or 4-5 mm, linear, shortly villous above, glabrous below. Calyx 10-22 mm, long simple-pilose or villous; lobes divided to the base though apparently forming a tube c. 6 mm long. Corolla pink to purple or violet; standard 16-22 mm, stenonychioid.FI. 6-8. Pine forests, steppe, 290-2800 m.
