Dwarf procumbent or cushion-forming shrub; stems 14-30 cm. Leaf rachis spiny, 1-2 cm, straight. Leaflets 2-7 mm, narrowly ovate to obovate, mucronate, densely spreading white-simple-pilose, 4-7-paired. Stipules 6-14 mm, triangular-lanceolate, glabrous though ciliate. Flowers sessile in the leaf axils. Inflorescence globose or oblong, 1.5-2 cm diam., 6-15-flowered. Bracts 6-9 mm, oblong-lanceolate, keeled, white-pilose towards the apex. Bracteoles 9-13 mm, linear, densely pilose, resembling the calyx lobes. Calyx 12-15 mm, densely white-pilose; lobes divided to the base. Standard 15-20 mm. Style glabrous. Fl. 6-7. Upland districts above 500 m.
