Dwarf, prostrate, much branched, suffrutescent perennial; stems 5-10 cm. Leaves 2-3 cm; leaflets 3-5 mm, elliptic, sparsely white simple-hairy below, hairs often restricted to margins above, 5-7-paired; stipules 3-4 mm, broadly ovate, fused for most of their length. Peduncles 3-4 cm. Flowers subsessile, 5-10 in a contracted, ovoid raceme or spike. Bracts c. 2 mm, broadly lanceolate. Calyx 5-7 mm, tubular, sparsely black and white, spreading, simple-hairy; teeth c. 1 mm. Corolla cream to violet; standard 12-14 mm. Ovary white-pilose, stipitate. Legume unknown. Fl. 7-9. Earthy slopes, 2600-3300 m.
