Erect, perennial herb, glabrous to sparsely pilose. Stems 60-70 cm, densely leafy; caudex to 8 mm thick. Leaves imparipinnate, 4-9 cm long; leaflets in 5-10 pairs, linear-lanceolate, 10x 2-5 mm, with simple white, adpressed hairs; stipules lanceolate-acuminate, membranous, 5-7 mm long. Racemes axillary, many-flowered. Peduncles 2-6 cm long. Inflorescence cylindrical, 10-25-flowered. Bracts 5-7 mm long, membranous. Pedicel ± absent. Bracteoles 3-4 mm long. Calyx 6-7 mm long, tubular; teeth setaceous, 1.5-2 mm long. Corolla yellowish brown when dry; standard 12-13 mm long; wings and keel 9-10 mm. Legumes glabrous, falcate, slightly apiculate, subcompressed, 30-40 x 2-3 mm, reticulately veined, many-seeded. Seeds smooth, shiny, 2 x 1 mm. Fl. & Fr. 6-7. Steppe, 1000-1150 m.
