Dwarf shrub with short stems. Leaves 2-4 cm; rachis spiny; leaflets 15-25 mm, lanceolate-elliptic, acute, spine-tipped, glabrous above, sparsely simple-sericeous below, 2-3-paired; stipules 13-16 mm, lanceolate, membranous, united at base, glabrous, ciliate. Peduncles scapiform, shorter than leaves, long white-pilose. Flowers in globose, 15-40-flowered spikes. Bracts 9-12 mm, ovate, acuminate, paleaceous, glabrous, ciliate. Calyx 13-15 mm, tubular at first, becoming inflated, long simple-white-pilose; teeth 5-6 mm. Corolla whitish; standard 15-18 mm. Ovary elliptic, compressed, densely and shortly simple-white-pilose. Legume unknown. Fl. 6-7. Steppe, 1850-1950 m.
