Plant 5-30 cm, with short and dense spreading hairs. Leaves with 3-5 pairs of leaflets; leaflets lanceolate to elliptic, acute to mucronate, 5-20 x 2-5 mm. Peduncle 3-13 cm. Flower-heads spherical, diam. 3-4 cm. Outer bracts broadly lanceolate to ovate, acuminate, 7-8 x 3-5 mm. Calyx 9-20 mm, with unequal teeth, lower three teeth ¼-1/3 longer than upper two. Corolla purple, glabrous, 12-15 mm, standard as long as keel.

Endemic; Ir.-Tur. element. The species is allied to E. pisidica and E. hirsuta.
