Plant 20-30 cm, silky-pubescent with adpressed hairs. Basal leaves with two pairs, stem leaves with three pairs of leaflets; leaflets lanceolate-elliptic, acute, 20-30 x 5-10 mm. Flowers in long peduncled spherical heads. Peduncles 15-25 cm. Head diam. 3,5-4,5 cm. Outer bracts ovate to broadly lanceolate, cuspidate, 8-9 x 3-4 mm. Calyx longer than corolla, 22-25 mm, with very long, unequal, often recurvate teeth, three lower twice as long as the two upper. Corolla 17-20 mm, petals purple, standard as long as keel. Fl. 6-8. Stony slopes, 1100-2000 m.
