Erect, slender shrub, 1-5 m. Young twigs triangular in cross-section, older branches becoming ridged but terete, twigs sparsely adpressed-puberulent. Leaves 3-foliolate, petioles usually lacking or up to 1 mm with larger leaves; leaflets 4-22 x 1-7 mm, narrowly elliptic or narrowly oblanceolate, sparsely adpressed-hairy on both surfaces. Flowers in short terminal racemes. Bracts lacking; bracteoles less than 1 mm, caducous; pedicels 1-2 mm. Calyx c.2 mm. Standard 4,5-8 mm, oblong-ovate, glabrous, shorter than the keel. Legume rhomboid-oblong, apiculate, sparsely adpressed hairy, suture somewhat thickened. Fl. 6-8. Macchie and hillsides, up to c. 1000 m.
