Slender, pilose annual, 20-40 cm tall. Lower leaves mucronate, the upper with simple tendrils; leaflets mostly 5-7-paired, elliptic to oblong-linear, 7-15 x 1,5-3,5 mm. Stipules entire oblong-lanceolate, unappendaged. Peduncles 1-3-flowered, aristate, as long as or shorter than leaf. Calyx 6-8 mm, teeth much longer than tube. Corolla pale mauve or white, subequal to calyx. Legume broadly rhomboid, 12-14 mm, glabrous. Seeds 3,5-6,5 mm. Fl. 4-6. Field crop, and persisting as a weed, s.I.-1500 m.
Widely cultivated in Europe and Asia.
