Villous annual, 25-80 cm. Leaflets of lower leaves 40-60 x 8-12 mm, obovate-oblong, not mucronate, glabrous above except at the margins. Racemes 5-16 cm, flowers regularly arranged in distant whorls. Corolla 13-16 mm, at first cream, later purple pale or pink. Upper lip of calyx bipartite. Legume 40-50 x 10 mm, shortly hairy, yellow or black. Seeds 4,5-6 mm, tuberculate, variegated. Fl. 5. Light soils, dry river beds, up to 720 m.
