Annual with ascending or erect stems, 5-45 cm high. Leaves with 5-8 pairs of oblong-elliptic leaflets and an indumentum of few scattered long hairs; stipules united, 2-toothed. Peduncles usually longer than the leaves, 8-27 cm long. Inflorescence 2-5-flowered. Calyx 8-10 mm long including 6-8 mm teeth. Corolla bright pink to crimson; standard 10-12 mm; wings 8-9 mm; keel 9,5-10,5 mm. Ovary glabrous, 1-ovulate. Fruit glabrous or setulose, 10-16 x 8-12 mm, semiorbicular in outline, foveolate on disc with short teeth, and with 5-6 subequal hard triangular teeth on crest. Fl 3-4. Rocky slopes, Quercus scrub and garigue, 30-850 m.
